Weather: Heavy rain, hail… Catalonia under orange alert for 4 out of 6 this Thursday

A storm will cross Catalonia again this Thursday, which is under orange alert.

The morning was already very wet in the Catalan Pyrenees this Thursday and the intensity of rain and thunderstorms will increase during the day, especially after midday.

Meteorological services predict up to 20 liters per square meter every half hour. The storm is expected to bring hail and gusty winds this afternoon.

As such, several provinces in Catalonia, including the borders of the Pyrenees-Orientales department, have been placed on orange alert, and 4 out of 6 are at high risk according to the Catalan Meteorological Services.

A dip of -10°C is expected in a few hours, with the thermometer not exceeding 20°C at some places.

In the coming days, Catalonia will return to milder weather, especially on the Costa Brava which will take its full place with seasonal temperatures and strong sunshine.
