Comedian Amanda Seales is ready to get real.
The “Insecure” star joined “The Real” daytime talk show as the fifth panelists, officially replacing Tamar Braxton after nearly four years of rotating co-hosts. Seales, 38, will join Loni Love, Jeannie Mai, Tamera Mowry-Housley and Adrienne Houghton at the table.
Love welcomed Seales as the “the newest member of our family” with tons of pink confetti and applause to match. The announcement brought Seales to tears.
“I didn’t expect to cry,” the comedian said, before being comforted by her new co-hosts. Mowry-Housley said, “We get emotional at this table and it’s OK.”
“It’s really just dope to come to a space where there was four women who I get along with on- and off-screen,” Seales explained. “We have different personalities and we have different points of view, but that’s the world.”
Seales shared her warm welcome on Instagram, writing, “Thank you to @therealdaytime for welcoming me into their family. Looking forward to keeping folks laughing and learning next to these lovely ladies on the daily!”
In 2019, the actress frequently served as a guest co-host on “The Real,” which is currently in its sixth season.
“What was always so great when I would come and guest-host with y’all was, I remember at the end of the first two weeks I looked up and was like, ‘Wait, I was myself for the whole two weeks and I didn’t have to think about anything,'” Seales said.
Seales’ addition marks the first time “The Real” has had five permanent co-hosts since Braxton’s contentious exit in 2016.
