The French Army performed an incredible rendition of Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’ to celebrate Bastille Day and it seemed that President Trump was completely checked out. It seemed he had no idea what was going on.

Equality, the news, foreign policy, common decency and hair brushing are but a few of the many many things Donald Trump doesn’t seem to understand. We can now add ‘popular culture’ to the list of the things president Trump lacks in his small fountain of knowledge.

At the Champs-Elysees, Trump and his wife sat alongside Present Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte – Who Trump greeted by telling her she’s in “great shape” – and listened as the French Army performed a medley for the French electro duo Daft Punk.

The French Army took things to a new level and nailed a modern twist on tradition instead of playing the usual Clair de Lune or Lee Marseillaise. They treated the presidents to a two-hour spectacle which included 241 horses, 63 airplanes and 29 helicopters traveling up and down the Place de la Concorde.

It was a great party to mark the turning point of the French Revolution.

Macron looked like he was having a lot of fun and enjoying proudly the work of his fellow French men and women. They played out the music perfectly while they moved in synchronicity.

Trump on the other hand looked a little bored as if he were sitting listening to a lecture in another language. He looked like he was clueless and didn’t realize what was happening.

At the end of the musical segment – which included baton twirling and drumming – Trump gave a half-hearted clap and whistle feigning his enjoyment. While Macron smiled genuinely and nodded in appreciation to his countrymen.
