Film producers and directors nowadays are jockeying for position in the box office movie race, in which some movies as King Arthur: Legend of the Sword has unexpectedly gone astray whilst movies like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has gone to the top.

On one hand, director Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword fell short of what audience expected and was not much critically acclaimed, moreover, it made $14.7 million when first debuted in 3,700 theatres; the outcome, of course, comes to nought, compared to the sum of $175 million production budget.

The fact that the flick has turned to be a flop ruined Warner Bros’s prospects; however, Bros has pinned hopes on his other summer movies, including Wonder Woman and Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk.

On the other hand, Jonathan Levine’s Snitched has jockeyed for the second place. The fact that Snitched surpassed King Arther : Legend of the Sword on the chart has taken critics by surprise; the movie made $17.5 in its first debut week at theatres.

Disney’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has gotten to the top and has garnered $63 million and made $246.2 million in just two weeks in the US.

Even though it declined 57 percent from last weekend, it is still garnering a mass audience.

Apparently, The Fate of the Furious with $5.3 million, and The Boss Baby with $4.6 million come have come off well as they entered the top five chart.

Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst told comScore,”The newcomers definitely had a tough time … For most general audiences, ‘Guardians’ remains the go-to movie. It has incredible staying power.”

As a matter of fact, neither King Arther nor Snitched were critically claimed, moreover, the audience was not satisfied by both flicks for different grounds, evaluating King Arther as B+ and Snitched as B.
