The new released movie Fate of the Furious reaches $1bn. The movie hit its milestone in only three weeks.

Fate of the Furious is the eighth film in the Fast and Furious sequel. The new film’s revenue is $19.3million in the US being the highest earning movie during three consecutive weekends.

Along with Jurassic WorldMinionsJurassic ParkFurious 7 (the seventh in the sequel), the Fate and the Furious became the fifth Universal Pictures film to surpass $1bn in the whole world.

Next week will be the last week for The Fate of the Furious. Many expect that Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be the winner of this upcoming weekend.

Competition

According to the Box-office chart this weekend, the second and third rankings after Fate of the Furious is a surprise.

Following the fate of the Furious comes How to be a Latin Lover in the second place and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion in the third place.

Both movies defied all expectations with an amazing performances and incredible openings even though both movies only screening in 1500 theaters, audiences were amazed by the both movies. How to be a Latin Lover and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, received great reviews. The comedy film How to be a Latin Lover got an A score on

CinemaScore, an audience rating aggregator while Baahubali 2 achieves a new record for its premiere among Indian movies in the US.

Other Films

Other movies weren’t as successful such as the Circle which was shocking giving that it stars important actors like Tom Hanks, Emma Watson and Karen Gillan. The movie is directed by James Ponsoldt. It only brought $9.3 million and took a D+ on CinemaScore.

Coming in the last rankings are Going in Style, Smurfs: The Lost Village, Gifted and Unforgettable which their numbers range between 3.5 and 2.3 million in the weekend.
