Aaron Carter hoped to set the record right about his extremely skinny frame in recent years, and said a medical condition has been the cause of the weight loss.
The singer, 29, posted a recent collection of Tweets in the early hours of Wednesday to address those who have been concerned about his lack of weight.
“By the way y’all wanna know why I’m so skinny?” Carter wrote. “It’s because @ 19 i was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia, I didn’t choose that. be kind to me..”
The child star also entioned that the affliction is a condition from ”stress” and that it affects his appetite significantly: “Basically I have an eating disorder.”
The star said that Nick Carter, his brother and Backstreet Boys’ singer, is able to confirm this fact as well.
“I’m sorry, sometimes I really wish I did look better, or I eat more like y’all say, this life doesn’t come w much stability,” he added.
Carter went on to say, “No I don’t do drugs, yes I feel pain, I haven’t stopped working since I was 7 years old 22 years later and I still won’t give up.”
“Any of my fans who I let down or made them embarrassed to be my fans anymore I’m so sorry. I will never stop trying to win your hearts back.”
Carter had taken to Twitter to defend himself after fans criticized his small frame in the past, like in 2015 when he said: “The way people talk about my weight is like high school times a million.”
He tweeted, then later removed the tweet that read, “Yes. I’m skinny right now. I’ve been very stressed and going thru some s— and felt like I needed to explain myself ‘cause so many people are asking me and talking about me being too f—ing skinny.”
“Just so we are VERY CLEAR I DONT so drugs,” he made sure to mention. “I smoke smoke bud but that’s it.”
