According to E! News, Tyga was handcuffed overnight in Hollywood.

After a night out at Avenue Nightclub, the 27 -year-old rapper, born Micheal Ray Stevenson, was driving his custom Mercedes G-Series. Police pulled him over on the corner of 1600 North and Cherokee Avenue because he ran a stop sign and had no license plates.

Tyga talked to several officers, then he left his car voluntarily. Afterwards, he was handcuffed and put into a police car. The paparazzi asked the rapper why he was being arrested, to which he responded: “Because I have paper plates.”

Tyga added that the car was new, that he had just bought it. Tyga shared pictures of his new vehicles on Instagram earlier that afternoon.

E! News tried to contact Tyga’s attorney for further comment.

On Wednesday, E! News learned from the L.A.P.D. that the rapper was pulled over for having paper plates. Traffic officers on the scene decided to preform a field sobriety test.

However, due to the presence of paparazzi, the rapper was transported to the Hollywood station to conduct it by police officers. He passed the test and was released with only traffic violation.

Tyga hasn’t been arrested nor charged with a crime.

Previous run ins with the law:

Tyga has been in trouble with the law before. Last year, he didn’t attend a court hearing over a $480,000 judgment his former landlord had won for back rent and damage to the Malibu home the rapper had rented, but he managed to settle the case and the arrest warrant was recalled.

In November 2016, he was also sued for failing to make car payments on a red 2016 Ferrari 488.

But apart from legal issues aside, Tyga just released a new single called “Act Ghetto” with Lil Wayne and “100s” with Chief Keef from his mixtape.
