This summer, Baywatch will return with a higher “flesh quota” and more “gratuitous boobs, bums, abs,” according to Dwayne Johnson’s promise.
Dwayne Johnson has promised to make Baywatch “far dirtier” than the TV series, so be ready to watch “more gratuitous boobs, bums and abs” this summer.
The former wrestler The Rock has given an interview where he said that Baywatch will shock people, but he also promised that there will be lots of laughs.
The TV series Baywatch, which starred David Hasselhoff, ran from 1989 to 2001. It was a show about lifeguards who patrol the beaches of Los Angeles, and it was family friendly. Dwayne got the chance to make a movie version of the iconic series, almost 14 years after the show ended, he promised he’ll make it an R-rated movie.
In an interview to the Sun, Dwayne said:”We are far dirtier than the show ever was – obviously the show was a family show on at family time of day – but in the movie we could have been dirtier.”
He added: “I think people are going to be shocked that Baywatch has got dirty – but there are a lot of laughs. We worked hard to make sure the flesh quota was high, there’s more gratuitous boobs, bums, abs, whatever per minute than you can imagine. Plot was important, don’t get me wrong, but so was sorting out our slow motion runs.”
“There’s less chest hair though but I like to think I have done the TV show justice in other ways. We have the Hoff on board keeping that vibe going.”
The new R-rated comedy stars Zac Efron alongside Dwayne, as well as Alexandra Daddario, Priyanka Chopra, Kelly Rohrbach and Jon Bass. It’s directed by Seth Gordon.
Jealousy of his co-star:
Dwayne talked about his co-star Zac Efron, saying he was jealous of him because of his abs. Adding that women on the sets of the film were impressed with Zac’s body, but also appreciated his hard work.
He said: “I’d like to say that’s true but I have to give him credit, he worked hard – we all wanted to keep the airbrushing budget low,” he added.
Baywatch is set to be released on May 26 during the Memorial Day weekend.
