On her first American Vogue cover, Selena Gomez talks about her retreat from the limelight and social media while shying away from talking about her famous boyfriends.

Dodging boyfriend questions:

When asked about dating The Weeknd, she said: “Look, I love what I do, and I’m aware of how lucky I am. But how can I say this without sounding weird? I just really can’t wait for people to forget about me.”

The “It Ain’t Me” singer tells Rob Haskell who interviewed her for the April issue of Vogue, that “everything she has said about her relationships in the past has come back to bite her, and that she will never do it again.”

However, during their conversation, it appears that Gomez is talking about her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber. She poses for photos with some of her younger fans and says “Somebody I used to hang out with would always get very frustrated with me. But I have a hard time saying no to children.” Leading Haskell to presume that she’s talking about Bieber.

Taking a break from social media:

Gomez has the most followers on Instagram, however, she admits she’s posting less on the photo-sharing site and no longer has the app on her phone, nor does she know the password to her account.

She admits that she freaked out after becoming the most followed person on Instagram. She admits saying “It had become so consuming to me. It’s what I woke up to and went to sleep to. I was an addict, and it felt like I was seeing things I didn’t want to see, like it was putting things in my head that I didn’t want to care about.”

“I always end up feeling like sh** when I look at Instagram. Which is why I’m kind of under the radar, ghosting it a bit,” Gomez added.

The star also posed for pictures for photographer Mert Alas taking a series of high-fashion images. Alas posted a behind-the-scenes photo of Gomez, wearing nothing but a gold thong and a blanket, back in January.
