Associated Press interviewed Mariah Cary Wednesday, February 15th, confirming Mariah’s new romance with Back up dancer and boyfriend, Bryan Tanaka.
When asked about her current dating life, the pop star subtly remarked about her new relationship stating, “I’m just going to be like, ‘I really don’t talk about my personal life’ because that’s what I used to do and it really worked for a minute, back a while ago.” she chuckled, “I just don’t feel comfortable talking about my personal life. Can we just keep that private between us? Me and my boyfriend don’t want to do that.”
The couple’s romance started back in 2016 soon after she and James Packer decided to end their engagement in October.
Mariah and the thirty-three-year-old back up dancer Tanaka, spent lots of quality time together between dates on Carey’s Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour, where their friendship developed into much more.
This sizzling romance was documented on Mariah’s World. The final episode of the E! docuseries released this January showed behind the scenes intimacy between the pair making out on a beach after officially ending things with Packer.
On February 14th Valentine’s day, the super celeb posted a flirtatious picture of herself and shirtless boyfriend enjoying sipping bubbly in a hot tub.
Mariah’s caption quotes, “Happy Valentine’s Day!! #happyvalentinesday #happy #moments #bubbles,” accompanied by hearts and emojis.
Meanwhile, Nick Cannon, Mariah’s celebrity ex-husband and father of the couples five-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan, recently expressed his skepticism regarding the romance’s authenticity and its highlights in the show Mariah’s World early February.
He claimed that, “first of all, I think the whole reality show is fake,” on the SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show. He went on to say, “I’m a producer, so I know how [it works]. … I don’t buy none of that s–t. … It feels like they wrote the story. That s–t is like a soap opera”.
