Recently, Lindsay Lohan, famous for her Mean Girls movie, gave an interview where she discussed her relationship with Islam, reading the Quran, and fasting the month of Ramadan.
After she deleted all her pictures and updated her bio to “Alaikum Salam”, Lindsay Lohan sparked rumors of converting to Islam. She has been adding more fuel to fire after saying that she reads the Quran and has fasted during the month of Ramadan.
The Actress’ Experience With Islam
Recently Lohan gave an interview to an Arabic TV show, she discussed her relationship with Islam and how Quran helped her reach a peaceful place in life.
The actress told the host, Shoaib Rashid, that she fasted Ramadan for three days with her friend from Kuwait, “It was hard but it was good. It felt good.” she added.
The actress listens to Quran on her mobile phone and has read 15 pages from the holy book (in English). She recited some verses in Arabic when she appeared on the TV show, Siwar Shoaib, claiming it brings her a feeling of calmness.
Controversy Surrounding Her Behavior
Lohan drew controversy earlier after being pictured holding a Quran. ” I was just holding a religious book,” she said, “but people in America didn’t like it, they judged me for it and were saying nasty things. (The Quran was) a solace and a safe thing for me to have,”
Lohan is of Irish descent and was raised Catholic. She has been dropping hints at her conversion a lot lately, even though she hasn’t confirmed the news yet.
The actress was photographed wearing a red and white headscarf (Hijab) that was given to her by a Syrian refugee in Turkey.
Lohan also drew questions when she was spotted speaking in a non-American accent.
Lohan voiced her interest in learning the teachings of Islam claiming that the religion brought her a spiritual experience and helped her find true meaning.
