The three-tune EP is a hors d’oeuvre of what is to be released from Gucci Mane in 2017. Hours after it was reported that Gucci Mane’s next venture would be called “DroptopWizop”, the 3 for Free EP was discharged. Each of the three tunes are delivered by Shawty Redd and highlights Gucci slanging extravagant rhymes over lumpy trap music-roused beats. The songs are accessible for download and streaming on SoundCloud.

One noteworthy champion is “Wasn’t Me,” a vile track with its deafening beat, bongos and church chimes. On the tune, Gucci raps, “I’m fresh out the feds, I’m fresh out on work release / I got that strong, I think I’m Hercules / I’m the plug and I drop once a week / I hit up Teezy and told him to flood the streets.”

“Sir Brix A Lot” is another track that is a slight revamping of Sir Mix-A-Lot’s 1988 exemplary tune “Posse on Broadway.” Once 3 for Free was released, fans went on Twitter to express gratitude toward Gucci Mane for gifting them with some new material. “3 For Free!!!!! thank you,” tweeted one individual, while another fan composed, “Gucci said ‘I’m an ex pill popper N online shopper’ this new Guwop a trip.”
