The newly single Mariah Carey is getting hot and heavy with one of her backup dancers Bryan Tanaka. The Grammy-winning artist, and star of Mariah’s World, was photographed kissing and frolicking oceanside with Tanaka in Hawaii earlier this week, just one month after calling off her engagement with billionaire James Packer.
“They were all over each other, making out and not wanting to be more than a few feet apart,” an eyewitness said of the pair. “They swam in the ocean and he picked her up to kiss her. She was jumping into his arms, and he bent her back over his knee, like they were dancing. Then they walked on the beach holding hands, and he gave her a piggyback ride. They had a lot of fun together and were very playful. She was kicking up the water to splash him, and he was laughing.”
According to friends of Carey’s, Packer was “very jealous” of Tanaka during their relationship, and had expressed his desire to have him fired. Though there were rumors about Tanaka’s involvement in their breakup, sources agree that he and Carey were just friends, and Carey’s rep explained this past October that the engaged couple broke things off after getting into a fight in Greece. “The fight was not because of any cheating allegations, or excessive spending by Mariah,” her rep explained, then added that the couple were “trying” to work things out.”
Shortly after their split, however, romantic rumors swirled surrounding Carey and Tanaka, who easily admitted that he has a “crush” on the star. Carey, who is 46, has been spending a lot of time at work, and at “play”, with the 33-year-old Tanaka. Prior to their Hawaiian getaway, friends confirmed that Carey and Tanaka have a “close” bond, and are planning on spending the holidays together.
Poor Parker may be left alone to count his billions.
