kim-and-kanyeWedding vow ‘Till death do us part’ may not include surviving mental illness when it comes to Kim Kardashian-West and Kanye’s marriage.

The 39-year-old West was admitted to the UCLA Medical Center after he suffered a sudden mental breakdown on Nov. 21 at his trainer’s home in Los Angeles, California. This incident occurred less than two months after Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris on Oct. 3., which caused her “severe emotional distress” according to her family and close friends. Since then, the 36-year-old mother of North, who is 2, and 11-month-old baby Saint West, has kept a very low-profile, virtually isolating herself from her adoring fans.

Although Kardashian has stood by her rapper husband’s side while he recuperated in the hospital, she is still dealing with her own emotional issues related to the robbery, and the heavily circulated rumors that the Wests are headed for divorce court. Kanye’s breakdown has certainly complicated the relationship.

“Kim now knows that she has to be strong to take care of her kids whether she likes it or not,” said a spokesperson for the ‘Keep Up With the Kardashians’ icon. According to those close to the stars and their families, the past few months have created a mental perfect storm, and both Kim and Kanye are doing whatever possible to keep the family of four together. They will apparently also be doing marriage counseling as a couple, and individual therapy to deal with their personal issues.

Rumors have swirled around the couple since they were married, and even Chloe has made comments indicating the tenuous nature of their marriage. The explosive personality that Kanye has revealed over the years, coupled with Kim’s primary family issues, have made for a rocky love journey. Parenting two small children only adds stress to their home.

“People don’t realize the stress that comes with this power couple”, said a spokesperson for the Kardashians. “They are both huge stars in their own right, are trying to raise a family, and do it in the public eye.”

Well, at least they don’t have to worry about money.
