Emergency officials have reported that Star Wars’ sweetheart Carrie Fisher is in critical condition at a local hospital. Several reports confirmed on Friday that the actress suffered cardiac arrest while on a flight from London’s Heathrow to Los Angeles, California.

Fisher was on a flight for eleven hours. First responders from the LA Fire Department who were quickly on the scene transported the actress to the UCLA Medical Facility

A close friend of Ms. Fisher, who was on the flight with her stated that the actress had experienced severe discomfort in her chest during the flight from England to LAX International Airport.

According to a United Airlines released statement, the crew had called the emergency center to report an unresponsive passenger.  The United Airlines Flight 935 was met by the medical personnel upon arrival at noon.

Officer Alicia Ferdinand of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) reported that officers were already waiting at Terminal 7 when the flight touchdown. The medical staff was observed administering CPR to an elderly person.

Todd Fisher, Carrie’s brother, told the Press that his sister was in stable condition at UCLA.

Fisher who is also an author recently released her autobiography, which is her eight-book. The title of her autobiography is the ‘Princess Diarist’. The acclaimed actress gained stardom during her role on the Star Wars series.

Carrie recently shared stories about her journey in Hollywood. She credits her mom for a  ‘dynamic’ relationship in her book and movie adaptation titled ‘Postcards from the Edge’. The actress had been outspoken about her psychological problems and her treatment of electroshock therapy.

Fisher’s hospitalization sparked overwhelming reaction on several social media platforms. Her Star Wars co-stars have also sent their well-wishes through social media, they all wished the renowned actress a speedy recovery.
