We hear about compensation packages in the millions, with some people within touching distance of receiving those packages. Now, Jon Feltheimer joins the lucky club of people and will get a compensation package that will make him the object of jealousy among his peers and contemporaries.
The CEO of Lions Gate Entertainment will now get a compensation of $63.6 million. The package includes a salary of $1.46 million, incentive award of $8.8 million, company shares of $11.7 million and stock options of $41.5 million. Other than these, he will receive perks which include club dues. He is also eligible for a corporate aircraft for his own use, one which was valued at $194,000 last year.
Feltheimer, who is aged 62 years and who has been the CEO since 2000, had reported gains of $4 million last year in vested shares. He also got $5.4 million the preceding year. In a statement by Lionsgate, they said that “In determining the equity grant levels, the compensation committee intended that these grants will provide incentives through the five-year term of the agreement, and we do not currently anticipate that Mr. Feltheimer will receive any additional grants during the term,”
The popular feathers in Lionsgate’s hat include Divergent and the Hunger Games film franchise as well as Orange is the New Black and Mad Men, which are highly rated TV series. Lion Gate said that the package was not extraordinary and was equivalent to packages given by other competitors.
