She has made her living by appearing on Gogglebox, in which she and her family are filmed while they watch television shows, including I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here. And now I’m a Celebrity superfan Scarlett Moffatt has been crowned winner of the reality television show.

Ms Moffatt says she started watching the show when she was only ten and she couldn’t believe that she was sitting on the winning throne, having been named Queen of the Jungle in the final of the sixteenth series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Also a radio presenter on Capital, Ms Moffatt beat her fellow finalists, the comedian Joel Dommett and actor Adam Thomas to take first position.

The 26-year-old could hardly contain herself when the result was announced, telling fellow Geordies, presenters Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, she had never expected to be in the final. She said she had never felt so happy and that she would do it all again if she had the chance.

She also said she felt she was leaving the jungle a stronger and more confident person, even though she had not expected to be changed by her experience. Ms Moffatt added: “It’s better than I ever could have imagined. I wish I could do it all again. It was just amazing. Just unreal.”

Winning the show is expected to open up myriad career opportunities for Ms Moffatt. Last year’s winner, Vicky Pattison, who first started on controversial reality show Geordie Shore, officially handed over her crown to Ms Moffatt. Ms Pattison has gone from strength to strength over the last year, finally taking the main presenter slot on the I’m a Celebrity spin off show Extra Camp. In a message on social media, she said: “A year ago today I was crowned Queen of the Jungle… I’ve had the most amazing year and I will forever be grateful for life changing experience!!!”
